I would like to introduce our Sports Injuries Recovery Program to you all. Sports injuries can occur due to various factors, such as overtraining, poor technique, improper warm-up, or accidents during physical activity. These injuries can result in muscle pain and joint pain, as well as create limited mobility which can affect your performance and overall well-being. It is estimated that there are more than 1.1 million sports-related injuries treated in 2021 at emergency departments, and that more than 3.5 million children ages 14 and younger get hurt annually playing sports or recreational activities.
Five of the most common sports injuries that amateurs experience is: pulling a muscle, concussion, runner's knee, shoulder injuries, and ankle problems.
Our office approach to care includes a thorough assessment of your condition to determine the root cause of your discomfort and develop a personalized treatment plan to facilitate the healing process. Depending on your injury, I may use various techniques such as chiropractic adjustments, laser therapy, soft tissue therapy to reduce inflammation, alleviate muscle pain and improve joint function. As you progress with the healing process, corrective and support exercises will be introduced to continue enhancement of your strength, flexibility, and improve any biomechanical imbalance that you might have. The overall goal is to reduce your pain, improve your spinal and nerve function and help you maximize your health, wellness and skills, as well as prevent future injuries. Our office wants to help you get back to the game, sport or other activities you love and enjoy so much.
I have always had a love for sports and outdoor activities, and I have had my share of injuries both from participating in sports and weekend activities. And sometimes we all need a little extra help in getting back into activities we love to do. During my time at Sherman College, I knew that when the time was right in my practice, I wanted to offer a sports recovery program, and that time has finally arrived. I have post graduate studies in Chiropractic Sports Medicine from Texas College of Chiropractic. Examples of training include Upper body Golf injuries, Racquet Sport injuries, Strength and Exercise injuries (just to name a few). This program includes 100 hours additional training in sports medicine related to chiropractors.
The sport injury recovery program is an individualized session with a one-hour duration in which I (Dr. McCurley) will uses all the “tools” in the toolbox to help get you on the road to recovery and back into the activities that you enjoy. Many of our current patients have asked for additional support in recovering from injuries, and now I have an avenue in which I can provide that support without having to rush through our busy chiropractic adjusting schedule. These appointments will be set up on any of our current days in the office, as well as our Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (just like your own personal trainer).
Please call our office to learn more about the program or to set up a consultation time to discuss your injury and recovery needs.
Have an amazing day,
Dr. K.D. McCurley
